Itineraries

Day 1

Arrive in Dubrovnik

Spend day in exploring this UNESCO Heritage site. Overnight in 4*http://www.grandhotel-park.hr/ Evening meet and greet and introduction to the photography tuition. No meals included No local guides

Day 2

Durmitor National Park

We have a morning transfer to Zabljak, the highest town in the Balkans at the altitude of 1456m and located in the centre of breathtaking and beautiful Durmitor National Park. You will have opportunities to see the old Durmitor villages and enjoy the views of the extraordinary and fascinating geological heritage such as Durmitor Saddle and 12th century medieval tombstones called stedci which are also UNESCO listed. There will be an opportunity to visit a local family and enjoy delicious homemade food such as “skorup” (milk skimmed cream) and the national dish “kačamak”. Day 3

Shepherds life in Biogradska Gora National Park

We transfer to the Djurdjevica Tara Bridge for spectacular views of the stunning Tara Canyon (the deepest gorge in Europe) which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and after to the summer pastures in the Bjelasica mountains. You will meet working farming families and their livestock including an opportunity to learn how Montenegrin cheese is made. Take an easy walking tour for great panoramas of Bjelasica Mountains. Enjoy family meal with organic fresh food from the farm. Late afternoon we will spend walking through one three remaining European primeval forests in Biogradska Gora National park. Day 4

Moraca Canyon and Lake Skadar

We transfer to the Moraca Canyon one of most beautiful river canyons in Montenegro which separates the mountains of Moraca from the Sinjajevina range. This absolutely unique place, which will leave you breathless. This is followed by a trip to the Lake Skadar area. We will taste smoked local fish and a glass of homemade grappa with the local fishermen. They will guide you through fishing techniques and the species found in the lake during an exciting boat trip. Next we visit a honey and wine producer who will lead you through the vineyards of a very Montenegrin grape. We will taste local homemade food cooked using recipes typical to the Lake Skadar area. Day5

Kotor Bay and Mediterranean desert villages

Transfer to Kotor Bay now recognized as one of Montenegro’s principal attractions and cultural treasures. First stop is in the charming old sea faring town of Perast. With its baroque architecture, and looking like a part of Venice that has floated down the Adriatic, Perast hums with melancholy memories of the days when it was rich and powerful. Despite having only one main street, this tiny town boasts 16 churches and 17 formerly grand palazzos. We then embark on a short boat trip to church island Our Lady of the Rocks and then Old town Kotor. After lunch, we hike up (approximately 45 minutes) through the shaded woods of chestnut trees and partially stoned paths up to the beautiful but abandoned village of Gornji Stoliv. Enjoy the silence of this village while taking in the breathtaking vistas of Perast and the Kotor Bay. After hiking back down, we will be transferred to Kotor. Day 6

Stari Bar and Ulcinj – touch of Orient: old towns structures

Day 6 Stari Bar and Ulcinj – touch of Orient: old towns structures We visit the ruins of Stari Bar and discover the rich history of this part of Montenegro (Venetians, the Austro-Hungarians and the Ottoman Empire). The breathtaking remains of Stari Bar are on top of Lundža Hill and surrounded by steep cliffs. The ruins are inaccessible except for a steep entry from one side. Sites also include 800BC pottery and metal which have been uncovered. Next we visit the fascinating medieval fortress town of Ulcinj, the southernmost town of the former Yugoslavia. Romans, Byzantines, Venetians and Ottoman Empire. This is an architectural ambience where you can visit palaces, citadels, mosques and orthodox churches. You will visit also Ada Bojana, a lagoon made by Bojana river which flows from Lake Skadar to Adriatic sea. Day 7

Transfer to Dubrovnik

This a free day to explore the amazing Dubrovnik City which is on the Adriatic Sea and is world famous for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls built in the 16th century. It’s a wealth of well-preserved fascinating buildings and is a photographers dream whilst also offering and abundance of shops, restaurants, cates and bars, The last night will be in the 4*http://www.grandhotel-park.hr/

Day 8

Transfer to airport or next destination
